Since 1998 The Hervey Foundation for Cats has helped stray, abandoned and unwanted cats in the community.

The Foundation was founded on providing the best possible care for the cats.

When other people and organizations talked about cat welfare, The Foundation established a cat shelter, introduced the early spaying and neutering program into Alberta and was the first to insist that all cats adopted out were spayed/neutered, vet checked, microchipped, vaccinated and feline leukemia tested BEFORE being adopted out.

Our animals are vaccinated UPON ENTRY into our facility and these vaccines are maintained by us during the cat’s stay with us.

Over the last 7 years The Foundation has helped over 3,000 cats that would have met a premature death. It has found good, loving homes for the majority of these animals. Those that for various reasons, are unadoptable, live out a Quality Life in our facility.

Our cats are not kept in cages, but are free to live in a family type environment. The directors of The Foundation live with these cats 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
